With Sympathy
I absolutely LOVE this paper!! It is so pretty and perfect for a sympathy card. I used an SU punch for the bottom for a lacy look. Simple but elegant.

Sweet Sixteen
A cousin's daughter is turning 16 and I wanted to make something really girly. I originally was going to use a high heel pattern that I found but decided that this was a little more appropriate. I traced my son's flip flop for this one. The edges were kind of rough after cutting the pattern with an exacto knife so I used a Heidi swap distress tool to give them a distressed look. I used sand paper to distress the base as well. I used a large fabric brad and ribbon to make the straps. The numbers were cut with my cricut - sweet was generated from my computer. There is a piece of white paper folded to make a card on the back that I adhered to the base (flip flop) pattern.
Get Well
This idea came from a magazine. The inside of the card says "You're never covered as much as you think you are". The file folder actually came this way. There were 4 (2 each) in a package, this being the larger of the two from www.paperloft.com
The recipients name is on the label with a made up hospital chart number. The other pieces are stickers I had left over from other projects.
fishing basket
Birthday card for father-in-law. Fishing basket inspiration came from here. I love her blog -- lots of cute stuff with several templates. I have some texture plates that I used to get the faux basket braiding impression. I bought the fish hook from Wal-Mart and cut the sharp points.

I have to admit....I cased this one too. Plan is to give it to my Grandpa on Father's Day. He is always in a button shirt and tie. Thought that paper made the perfect tie pattern. The tie clip is made with a paper clip that I bent.
Perfect for any coffee lover!! I found this pattern here.
I made it for a very very helpful girl at work. She literally saved my day with all her help. She is a huge coffee lover and I thought
what better card than one in the shape of a coffee cup.
Quilt
I've found that regular quilting patterns make great cards when made to scale. Though it looks very time consuming it was actually quite easy. Use a square punch (whatever size you like) and place the punched piece on a piece of paper sized to your needs, in the center. Cut patterned paper in thin strips and start lining them up to cover the base. Then I cut all the fringes off the sides and used 4 thin strips of peach paper and made a frame around the piece (hides the edges). I printed the name right from my computer and then stamped a flower (g studio) and embellished it with a tiny pearl. Made for Grandma's Birthday.
My Dad is very gifted with wood. He has built many beautiful pieces of furniture, etc. I found this pattern here. Perfect Father's Day card!! The tools are Jolee's and I used black brads for the sides and top. It's hard to tell from the picture but I sponged the brown paper with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink to give it an aged look.
